A simple and friendly welcome a few kilometres away from Cefalù
Casa Migliaca lies close to the north coast of Sicily a few kilometres away from Cefalù, between the Nebrodi Mountains and Madonie mountains. The house stays on a hill overlooking the sea on a side of river Tusa's valley. It has been built in the XVII century and has always belonged to the same family. Originally it was an oil mill, then in the XIX century has been transformed in a residential country house.
During the early nineties has been adapted with accommodation facilities and today is a farm hotel managed by the descendants of the old owners. hospitality is simple but convivial, dinner is taken all together around the huge round table, once the base of the mill used to squeeze olives.
Eight rooms are available; those on the first floor of the house have ancient furniture, fireplace and wrought iron beds. The windows, overlooking the countryside, are veiled by frame embroidered hemp and linen curtains. The rooms on the ground level maintain the original traits of the oil mill service rooms. The silted jar, the small palmento and the chestnut mezzanine that are in some rooms are witness of the old functions.
All the rooms are large and, respectful of the original architecture and volumes, bathrooms are essential, small but functional.

We are located on the South-East coast of Sicily, in the "baroque" heart of the "Val di Noto", part of the Unesco World Heritage List, in an ideal position to visit all the most beautiful and tourist sites. From here you can easily reach Ragusa Ibla (25 km), Scicli (12 km), Modica (30 km), Noto (70 km) and all the sites seen in "Commissario Montalbano" (the famous tv series based on the novels by Andrea Camilleri).
It's also possible to go on an excursion to the mount Etna (135 km), to the "Valle dei Templi" in Agrigento (139 km), and you can also reach easily Siracusa (106 km) and Taormina (182 Km), both famous for their beautifull Greek theatres. The Port of Pozzallo is not far (32 km), and it has many links with Malta by ferries.
