An organic bed and breakfast in an ancient stone farmhouse with a swimming pool

Podere La Sterza is situated at the bottom of the valley of the Commune of Chianni (Pisa) along the torrent Sterza that borders the Provincial Road to Miemo. It is in a strategic position to reach the most important classic touristic sites and at the same time it is isolated in a wild landscape in which to explore woods, fields and torrents.

Volterra, Peccioli, Terricciola, Casciana Terme, Laiatico where the famous tenor Andrea Bocelli performs in his (Teatro del Silenzio) and Chianni can all be found within a range of 20 km and offer the opportunity to discover the countryside of Pisa, with less mass tourism and full of culture, as confirmed by the charm of the ancient villages, the summer music and dramas programmes at Peccioli and Volterra theatres, the wine and food tours through the various fairs.

Also of particular interest is the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera (20 km) and and the important Buddhist Centre of Pomaia (20km). Art cities such as Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano are within about 50 km; slightly further are Florence and Lucca.

The sea between Cecina and Vada can be reached in about half an hour; and further south is the beautiful Maremma and the Etruscan coast.

The central building once the master's house is reserved for the guests. The furnishing is unique in its kind and consists of ethnic and antique pieces as well as modern antiques. The modern and very personal decorations can be particularly appreciated in the refined and surprising bathrooms. From the entrance stairs lead to the upper floor with independent entrance where the bedrooms are. They all open onto the large living room, with satellite TV and DVD player.

There are two double rooms (inside which an extra child bed can be added if requested); a triple room with double size bed and sofa bed; and a suite with a double bedroom and a living room where two beds can be placed.

The two rooms communicate but have separate entrances (ideal for a couple with children); there also is a bathroom with shower and tub.
