The warm of an ancient house for your green holiday
Alla Bonacina is a farm, which is both in town and in the countryside, near Lake Como where George Clooney lives, the mountains of Valsassina and those surrounding Lecco, will soon be turned into a holiday farm. At the moment it offers Bed & Breakfast basis.
The building, which is situated in the old town centre of Bonacina, on the occasion of its centenary, has been completely restored while maintaining its original warmth. Bonacina is a district of Lecco at the foot of Piani d'Erna and Mount Resegone. There is a stream, Caldone, running opposite the farm. You can find everything here, amusement, relaxation, sport, culture, food and wine. If you want to relax you can enjoy our swimming pool, the landscape and the wonderful weather. You can reach the cities of Bergamo and Milan in less than one hour. Switzerland is near too, as well as the mountains of Saint Moritz or Lake Lugano. Peo and Graziella, your hosts, who know the area really well, will give you the best advice. The farm is within striking distance of two Regional Parks. Within a few minutes drive you can visit the archaeological sites of Monte Barro Regional Park, enjoy the endemic flora or go climbing in the Grigne Regional Park. Our building is completely ecological. We produce energy also for those who consume it more than we do. Photovoltaic solar panels cover two parts of the roof and they produce about 7000 KW electric power a year. We also have 15 sqm solar collectors for the production of hot water which, under good weather conditions, warm up the water of the swimming pool and of two fantastic solar panels that directly produce hot air. We produce extra-virgin olive oil: the olive grove is nearby. Tourists usually love lake resorts in summer but in winter we have cold dry weather and bright blue skies. December, January and February are the best months for you! At sunset the mountains turn red and the sky is often so clear that you can see as far as Mount Rosa and beyond. If you love skiing you can easily reach Piani di Bobbio, only 15 ms drive from the B&B: here you can find 35 km of ski slopes, largely covered by artificial snow. As an alternative to the B&B you can rent two rooms, a kitchen-veranda and a laundry in order to be completely independent. Breakfast includes various kinds of food, depending on seasonal products and local producers. We prefer offering typical products of the territory, as fresh as possible, grown and produced in a natural way. Breakfast time can be agreed on and we will try to satisfy your wishes. According to the period of the year, breakfast will be served in a conservatory in the main building, or on the veranda overlooking the swimming pool, near the garden. We have a big wood-burning oven and if you like cooking you can help us prepare pizza, bread, flat bread and everything that needs to be you baked.
