Villa Olcimia Country House is the result of a clever and accurate restructuring of a typical Italian farmhouse. It is located in Capena, a small village on the top of a hill (160 m above sea level), surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, with the Tiber Valley and the Sabina mountains as a background. The villa is composed of nine ample bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and a restaurant. It is very close to the "Fiano Romano" highway exit and just 20 minutes by car from Rome. The ideal place to have a break without going to far!
The villa is immersed in a luxuriant country rich of flowers and tall trees. The interior of the house are very well furnished with some antique pieces dating back to the last century. Guests are offered 9 double rooms with private en-suite bathroom, a restaurant area, a common room and a garden equipped with chairs and tables.
During the good season, you will also have a nice outdoor swimming-pool to relax surrounded by peace and luxuriant nature.
The restaurant of Villa Olcimia offers the typical Roman cusine: gnocchi alla romana, spaghetti alla carbonara, lamb, chicory. All is served with the typical local white wine "Bianco Capena". In any case, the area is rich of nice restaurants where you can go to try local dishes.
Capena itself is worth a visit, with its nice little squares made of tuff and its fascinating mixture of middle aged and renaissance architecture. The surroundings are hilly and you will find it extremely relaxing and pleasant to stroll among the countryside, where it is still possible to visit old Roman and middle aged ruins, as old guard towers completely covered with ivy.
Villa Olcimia is definitively a very convenient place to rest and relax close by to Rome. The good food, the genuine wine and the peace of the countryside will do the rest!
