Absolute charm and luxury in the heart of Abruzzo National Park
In Pescasseroli, in the heart of the National Park of Abruzzo, in one of the most enchanting mountain areas of Italy: the wild scenic beauty and the incredible variety of Flora and Fauna. On a large plain, at 1.167 m. above sea level, in a dry and healthy climate, "Villa Mon Repos" hotel is the right place foa a summer stay and for winter sports, but also for spring and fall holidays. The hotel was built in late Art Nouveau Style: the villa was designed by Erminio Sipari, the original owner, and built at the beginning of last century.
The hotel consist of just 14 charming rooms with bathtub or shower (2 rooms with fireplace and 2 rooms with fireplace and hydro massage), curtains and tapestries different and personalized in each room, Persian carpets, cherry-wood furniture of the "Ermitage" collection, writing desk, mini-bar, Tv, direct phone.
The original owner was the founder of the National Park of Abruzzo and uncle of the great philosopher Benedetto Croce, who was born in Pescasseroli. It has been told that Croce knocked every day at five o'clock at the villa's door to have tea and biscuits with his ant.
The villa had been inhabited since 1950 and it came out to be very ruined and decadent. The restoration, keeping the same structures and materials, was attended by Liberata Berardini and Antonio Decina, the actual owners.
The works has been carried out taking into consideration the pre-existing materials, style and colours: the marble mosaic floors, the style of the crystal chandeliers and the Art Nouveau lamps, the fine handmade Tiffany glass walls, the art "deco" bathrooms and cherry-wood. furniture, the elegant boiserie, the fine and various colours and curtains are just the result of this research: the result is a mix of comfort and the respect of the previous charming atmosphere.
The hotel, with such fine and comfortable rooms and comfort, being small so that with a simple organization we take good care of the guest, represent the best offer in Pescasseroli and in the National Park of Abruzzo.
Our cuisine is made of the perfect balance between local recipes and fine taste: it is based on traditional dishes, using fresh and healthy ingredients.
