A classy stay in an ancient villa in Trieste
The villa was built in 1855 on a project delivered by the at the time Mayor and well-known botanist Muzio de'Tommasini on behalf of a rich landowner, Mrs. Eufrosina Buchler. In the course of the years there were many owners, among them the family Curiel, known for the numerous gold medals - even at the Olympics - in fencing. In 1999 the villa was bought by our family. Since then the building has received lots of tender loving care in order to renovate and modernize it.
This green island of nearly 3000 sqm near to the city centre allows you a calm and comfortable sleep. Among dozens of age old horse-chestnuts and plane-trees stand out one evergreen oak and one cedar of Lebanon. All these trees are taller than the building itself and give shade to it in every season. The rose garden is cared by Nicoletta personally. Our guests can taste at the right time our plums, grapes, persimmons and tomatoes out of the plants grown with natural methods
The most desired accommodation is our two-bedded minisuite - it is possible to add a third bed - in a lovely and comfortable penthouse with a long terrace facing our park. In the private facilities an old bath-tub with lion paws is remarkable. Breakfast will be served at the same floor.
Breakfast is served just inside the other newly restored room, the ideal solution for two people, provided with private shower and toilet.
Both guest units are furnished with old family pieces and have an independent entrance.
You can have a personalized breakfast at the time you want.
A wireless internet connection is also available. Guests are welcome in our park where you can enjoy the colours of nature and of our roses, as well as the company of our dogs. However, as they are very jealous of their estate, we cannot accept pets, sorry! Eventually, the garden is the place where you are allowed to smoke!
This "secret" villa - secret because you can't see it from the road - is surrounded with its private park of big old trees, where you can find a free parking for your vehicle. It is located near to the railroad station and the bus and airbus terminals. In the immediate surrounding there are bus stops of lines leading everywhere (to the city centre, to Miramare and Duino, the Carso etc.) If you want, we can land you our bicycles.
