Residence Santa Chiara is an ancient bourgeois house dating back to the second half of the 16th century, located in the historical centre of Lucca inside the medieval walls. It faces the charming gardens of Villa Bottini, once residence of Elisa Bonaparte. Here, many cultural and musical events take place in summer offering a pleasant entertainment for everybody. From here, all the main historical attractions of the city, as the Roman amphitheatre, the Giunigi tower, S. Michele square and the central street Fillungo with its numerous shops, are within walking distance. Completely family-run, the Residence Santa Chiara welcomes its guests in an atmosphere with an ancient taste, but offers the most modern comforts.

Restructured in June 2005, Residence Santa Chiara is composed of a main building with 4 rooms, which can be single, double and triple, and of a suite which can host up to 4 people, with sitting area, balcony and direct access to the garden. All the rooms are provided with a large bathroom (with shower or tub) , TV, air-conditioning, heating and courtesy kit.

An all mod cons mini-apartment, which overlooks a small garden, has been newly-built in a secondary building of the Residence. It has independent entrance, a room with 3 beds, bathroom with shower. Breakfast, daily cleaning, laundry change every third day, gas and water consumption are included in the rate.

The Residence is located right in the historical centre of Lucca, 1 km from the railway station, 20 km from the Pisa international airport and to 65 km from the airport of Florence. Thanks to its enviable position, all the beauties of Tuscany, as Florence, Pisa, Siena, San. Gimignano, the Versilia coast, Garfagnana and the surroundings of Lucca itself with its magnificent villas and the farms, are very easy to reach and to visit.

The Residence offers its guests free bicycles, free Internet access for up to 30 minutes a day at the reception computer and free luggage storage on the day of departure. Furthermore, the Residence has its own taxi company with high qualified drivers which can organise transfer to and from the airports and railway stations at very good rates. You will have also the chance to book a tour throughout Tuscany, with prestigious cars and highly qualified drivers speaking fluently English and German.
