"San Pio" Relais is close to Metaponto, on the Ionian coast in the Gulf of Taranto. It is located in a large-sized, delightful and secluded farm dating back to the late eighteenth century and it is the ideal place where you can enjoy the fascinating atmosphere of Basilicata countryside. 24 rooms on the ground and first floor all furnished with care and scrupulous attention to detail. These rooms are equipped with: telephone; internet socket; television; air conditioning; independent central heating; mini-bar; strongbox; "elegance" bed linens and towels; daily tidying; bathrooms with hairdryer, bath and/or shower.

San Pio" Relais offers half board service including "buffet" breakfast and table-served dinner. Possibility to have "à la carte" lunch.
We are in the very heart of ancient Magna Grecia, 5 km far from the archaeological excavation at Metaponto and 15 km from the ones at Heraclea; 50 km from Matera whose "Sassi and rupestrian churches" are part of Unesco heritage; 50 km from Taranto and 70 km from the spectacular Itra valley.
Beyond the fields and a private pine forest you could admire a dune full of lentisk and other typical plants, a fine and light sand-covered shore and our crystal-clear sea with shallow water sinking gradually. The beach is equipped with beach umbrellas, deckchairs, beach towels and shuttle service for our guests.
San Pio" Relais offers the following infrastructures: a meeting hall used as local handicraft show room and as a cinema, which has seating for 100 people; a hall; a bar; a restaurant preparing home traditional and Mediterranean cooking; a dining room surrounded by an ancient citrus orchard; a relax centre with an indoor warm hydro-massage swimming pool; an outdoor swimming pool filled with salt water; a solarium with sun-beds; a sauna; a fitness and massages area; a covered parking area.
