The "Podere Cavone" farm is in Cupi on a charming hill in the area surrounding the Regional Park of Maremma ("Parco dell'Uccellina"). The farm offers a splendid panoramic view ranging from the green hills of the Park to the sea. The "Podere Cavone" farm is an agricultural company which develops over sixteen hectares and produces grapes then used in classified Italian wines (Morellino di Scansano) and extra-virgin olive oil. The rooms themselves also offer a splendid panorama and the magnificent veranda will guarantee you unforgettable sunsets, even in Winter.
The Guesthouse, recently restructured while maintaining the characteristic architecture of the place, is very near the main house and consists of a suite and three double rooms, each with an independent entrance, a large bathroom, a telephone line, a safe and independent-control adjustable heating system. All the rooms are furnished with antiques and considerable attention has been paid to the small details.
Breakfast is served in the veranda and gives you the opportunity to taste genuine local products like jams, marmalades, cakes, biscuits and fresh fruit shakes.
The farm itself, located on the top of an West-facing hill is fresh, cool and well-ventilated in the Summer months, when the typical westerly wind in this area allows you to fully enjoy pleasant afternoons in the sun in the garden right in front of your rooms.
Because of its strategic position, the "Podere Cavone" farm allows its guests to combine a totally-relaxing holiday with excursions and sporting activities in close contact with nature.
In the surrounding areas, you can choose between pleasant walks in and around country farms and farmhouses, mountain bike treks among vineyards and olive groves, boat trips to the islands of Giannutri, Giglio and Elba, horse-riding in forests, woods and valleys, in canoe rides on the Ombrone river, underwater diving, golf, tennis and guided visits in the Parco dell'Uccellina. The sea at Argentario and the lovely Feniglia and Giannella beaches are just 15 kilometres away.
For lovers of cities of art, the place offers several trips: Florence is just two hours from the farm. Siena is about an hour away and you can get to Rome in just two hours. Even nearer are extraordinary treasures like Scansano, Pitigliano, a mediaeval town atop a hill with a Sixteenth-Century aqueduct and a Renaissance Cathedral, Sorano, Sovana, the sulphur baths at Saturnia and Massa Marittima with its natural history museum at Talamone. For those who love buried civilisations, go to the Maremma area where you will find several testimonies of the Etruscan period.
The "Podere Cavone" farm organises food and wine weeks with guided visits to selected wine-producing cellars: Morellino di Scansano, Brunello di Montalcino and Monteregio di Massa Marittima. Here you can also taste the typical wonders of the Tuscan region cuisine.
