The "Pian della Selva" Holiday Farmhouse is in the north of Umbria, halfway between Gubbio and Perugia. The completely-restored stone Farmhouse is in a splendid panoramic position, totally surrounded by olive groves, lush lawns and age-old oak trees, where time passes sweetly following the rhythms of countryside seasons. This, as well as the beauty of the panoramas and sunsets, is one of the reasons why the painter Stefania Fior moved her family to this little paradise. The artistic vein of the Farmhouse owner can be felt in the numerous paintings exhibited: every room has a work of art, as do the corridors and other areas.
The agricultural activities of the Farmhouse company are based on olive growing and the production of Extra Virgin olive oil here follows the ancient customs of hand-picking and cold olive pressing. The oil produced by the Farmhouse company can be tasted and purchased here.
The Holiday Farmhouse offers its guests 8 comfortable rooms, furnished with antique furniture. Every room has heating, telephones, TV connections and independent bathrooms. Triple and quadruple rooms are also available.
On the ground floor you will find the dining room where you can enjoy the buffet breakfast, with home-made jams and cakes prepared using the recipes of the owners' grandmothers. You can also book for dinner here, when you will be treated to typical local and Umbrian specialities, as well as the Farmhouse company oils and the very best wines from the area.
Guests also have access to a comfy reading area in the living room with fireplace, which can also be used as a meeting room for company training courses.
Those who want to spend their time relaxing here in the Holiday Farmhouse or take a rest after trips to the local artistic and religious sites can make use of the swimming pool with sun-beds and umbrellas.
The Pian della Selva Holiday Farmhouse is the perfect starting point for exploring the historic areas around here: Etruscan and Roman monuments and works of art, Medieval abbeys and Renaissance masterpieces.
It is just 20-30 km to Perugia, Gubbio, Cortona, Todi, Orvieto, Lake Trasimeno and Assisi. It is just a little further, about 60-70 km, to Arezzo, Spoleto, Spello, Siena, Todi, Orvieto, Sansepolcro and other splendid tourist sites. All these areas are easy to get to along the E45 Super Highway.
When staying here, you can go for long pleasant walks along the nice little roads and walkways in the farmhouse area, enjoy picnics in the shade of the age-old oak trees or play bowls, jump in the swimming pool and relax as you read a book surrounded by trees.
Ecological and nature trips can be enjoyed in the Monte Cucco Regional Park, where you can also use delta planes, paraglide or go canyoning. Clearly, you can also just do...nothing, that is, just enjoy the amazing peace and quiet in this area.
