The apartments "La Scala" are located in the centre of Cortona, just across from the Signorelli theatre, a central point in the town. Consisting of three apartments La Scala is an ideal place for guests to sit-back and relax and tour around Tuscany. Thanks to their location overlooking the Piazza Signorelli the apartments also give you a chance to comfortably watch concerts and shows right from your apartment.
Our apartments are located at the top end of historical Via Benedetti on of the oldest streets of the historical centre named after Cortona-born writer and patriot Francesco Benedetti that was born in a building located further down the street. In the past Via Benedetti and the adjoining Via Dardano born one single name, Via di Porta Colonia.
Apartment "Terra" is a charming apartment overlooking the Piazza Signorelli in the town centre. Tastefully restored and carefully decorated in all details the apartment fully preserved its style and is sure to provide guests with a unique and unforgettable stay. The apartment consists of living room/kitchenette, one bathroom and one master bedroom.
Apartment "Luna": this apartment too was completely and tastefully restored and fully preserved its unique style; the apartment features Tuscan-cotto floors and exposed wooden beams. Tastefully and carefully furnished the apartment offers an excellent view over the Piazza Signorelli hosting a variety of events such as concerts, shows as well as the celebrated TUSCAN SUN FESTIVAL. The apartment consists of living room/kitchenette, one bathroom and one master bedroom as well as an extra double sleeper sofa.
Apartment "Sole" is located on the top floor of the building and is accessed through an old stone staircase. The living room is cosy and finely furnished; the upper floor accessed through an old wooden staircase features Tuscan-cotto floors, exposed wooden beams and small niches making this attic an ideal place to rest and enjoy a breath-taking view of the Piazza Signorelli thanks to its unique terrace. The apartment consists of living room/kitchenette, 2 master bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and one extra double sleeper sofa.
Our apartments are very centrally located in the very heart of the town centre; just looking out of the window you will be able to see of the town's architectural masterpieces, the Teatro Signorelli or just take in the town's everyday life looking out onto the town's major Piazza, Piazza Signorelli, a natural theatre in the summertime for concerts and shows. The Piazza is overlooked by the imposing Palazzo Casali, once the residence of the Casali family housing today the MAEC (Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca e della Città di Cortona). Its rooms house a very interesting collection of Etruscan and Roman archaeological finds. Only few metres down the hill across from the Cathedral the Museo Diocesano is a real jewel-case housing works by major local artists such as Luca Signorelli as well as one of the most enchanting Annunciations by Beato Angelico.
