All the beauty of Tuscany in an elegant and ancient "Palazzo" building
On Corso Rossellino, right in the centre of Pienza, less than one hundred metres from Piazza Pio II, with its magnificent cathedral and the splendid Palazzo Piccolomini, the "Antica Locanda" offers pleasant and exclusive accommodation for the most demanding of guests. We are located in a Fifteenth-Century building which was once home to the Papal Secretariat. Recently renovated, it boasts all mod cons and yet still maintains the old charm of this stunning building.
In total, the Antica Locanda offers four lovely and exclusive bedrooms with private en-suite bathrooms and two mini-apartments, which consist of a living room with mini kitchen unit and a sleeping area with bedroom and bathroom. All the rooms and mini-apartments have independent heating, en-suite bathrooms and TVs (the mini-apartments actually have 2 TVs).
The rooms, then, which boast the original ceilings with visible beams, are spacious and have been furnished with ancient furniture from the fine Tuscan tradition. The atmosphere here is refined and relaxing. Some of the rooms offer splendid views of the "Val d'Orcia" Valley, an enchanting valley running across the lovely stretch of Pienza; other rooms, then, face onto the marvellous historic city centre.
From here, you can set off to visit all the wonders of Tuscany: the splendid medieval town of San Gimignano and amazing Siena are both extremely near. And, of course, don't miss the amazing regions of Chianti, Volterra and, last but not least, the one and only Florence.
