Stay in the heart of the Chianti Region in a familiar and charming accommodation
Surrounded by vineyards and olive-trees, the 200 y.o. stone farmhouse is hilltop with a spectacular view on the valley. "Ancora del Chianti" provides apartments and bed-and-breakfast accommodation in a converted Chianti farmhouse. Think of Tuscany and you probably picture somewhere like "Ancora del Chianti". That means hospitality, a friendly atmosphere, and terrific food and drink. The 200-year-old house is just 5 km outside Greve in Chianti, on a hilltop with charming views over the Greve valley - filled with ancient castles, picturesque villages, and farms where you can taste genuine local products.

Ancora del Chianti offers B&B accomodation with double and twin bedroom all with private bathrooms. Laura and Filippo have renovated the house recently, carefully preserving the original Tuscan style, with terracotta tiled floors and wood-beamed ceilings. Self contained accomodation are: "Sangiovese apartment" sleeping four and comprise a sitting room with double bed, one double bedroom, separate kitchenette and two bathrooms; "Malvasia" apartment sleeps two, in a studio with double bed, separate
kitchenette and bathroom. Laura will put extra beds in on request, and the bathrooms have a mix of showers and bathtubs. All the apartments have central heating, and the kitchens are equipped with hob, cooker and fridge. All are situated on the ground floor of the house and have spectacular views of the Greve Valley or the twin rooms meanwhile overlook vineyards, cypress and olive groves. There is an outside dining area and a barbecue for your use. You will need a car to get to the house, but there is ample parking, and car hire can be arranged from Florence airport.
This is the perfect spot to relax, in the courtyard and on the lawns which surround the house. But when you venture further a field you'll find plenty to do. There are local castles, villages, and farms to visit, as well as excellent local walks, horse riding, mountain biking, tennis, lake fishing and much more. The best golf course in Florence is just 10 km from the house.
Your hosts are Laura and Filippo. Laura will be taking care of you during your stay. She decorated the house herself and spends her spare time painting the flowers in the beautiful garden. Each morning she provides continental breakfast in the cosy dining room. Filippo, meanwhile, has devoted himself to the vineyards and the olive groves producing Chianti and olive oil - you will be welcome to sample both during your stay.
Laura and Filippo are also happy to offer suggestions about wine tours with tastings in Chianti, Montalcino, San Gimignano and Montepulciano; visits to the major cities such as Florence, Siena and Arezzo; and shopping at the hottest fashion outlets.
The nearest town is Greve, just 5km away. Here you'll find restaurants, bars, a grocers and supermarket. There is a bank, post office and pharmacist, as well as tennis courts and a public swimming pool. Florence and its rail station and airport is just 20km away, Siena 40km and San Gimignano 45km.
