The "Alla Madonna del Piatto" holiday farm is a corner of total peace and quiet among the lovely hills sloping down towards Assisi. From the windows here, you can look down onto the city atop Mount Subasio, with Saint Francis' Basilica standing out in the valley below, the woods, the olive groves and even, in the distance, the bell towers of Perugia. From here, in just one day, you can walk in the woods and countryside as far as Assisi or wander up to the mountains along the Franciscan road which for centuries brought pilgrims to Gubbio.
Guests here have access to six rooms, all of which have a beautiful view of Assisi and the surrounding hills. To make your stay as pleasant as possible, all the rooms are sound-proof and have private en-suite bathrooms and floor heating. All of the rooms are furnished with old rural-style furniture combined with craft elements and fabrics which the farm owners have collected during their travels in various parts of the world.
The house was built starting with the old original base which dates back centuries and was probably a refuge for shepherds in the past. The house has been restructured and furnished with a policy of maintaining the best parts of the old building: the objective was to make the house as comfortable and warm and welcoming as possible.
Meals are cooked for the guests only and priority is always given to seasonal produce and ingredients made and prepared here in the holiday farm. The buffet breakfast and dinner are served in the Dining Room which can be used by the guests after eating for a nice chat sitting around the fireplace.
By car, it is just a few kilometres to the State Highway and the artistic treasures of Umbria like Orvieto, Spoleto and Todi. If you prefer peace and quiet, stay right here among the 11 hectares of fields and woods.
