Bagno a Ripoli was probably an Etruscan village and from the IIIrd century B.C. it became an important commercial centre. It still preserves the old Romanesque parish church in the surroundings of Florence, the Pieve di San Pietro, which dates back to the VIIIth century. Inside you can appreciate several artworks, among which some frescoes dating back to the XIVth century attributed to Piero Nelli.
