In 1878 Russi was conferred the title of "città" in honour of Luigi Carlo Farini, but the town has a millenary history, as the archaeologic area of the important Roman Villa testifies. In the historic town centre, remains of the old medieval castle can still be seen. Two remarkable parish churches, one in San Pancrazio and the other in Godo, enrich Russi's historical and architectural heritage. In Godo is also worth to be seen the museum of contemporary furnishings design.
