Famous health- thermal resort, Baveno had its guests, artists and politicians, as well as Umberto Giordano, who set in music "Fedora". This little town has old origins. The historical centre is composed of buildings, dating back to X century, is one of the most important holiday resort appreciated by International tourism. The settlement of men, on the south shore of the lake, was due to the possibility of quarrying pink and red granite, from the surrounding mountains, above all Camoscio. The parish church, with its romanesque bell tower, was built in XI century with stones of granite of Baveno.
