The village of Aggius lies on the Limbara massif and the ranges of the "Resegone sardo", a series of mountains whose name comes from their serrated profile. It is dominated by the granite rocks of both the heights of the Parco Capitza which overlook the village and also by the incredible maze of boulders of the nearby “Valle della Luna” (Valley of the Moon). The little centre of Aggius, once ruled by the Doria family and later by the Aragonese, is a pleasant little place with its well-kept old stone houses, probably some of the finest in the entire area of the Gallura.
