Taormina is very famous, for its beauty, its view, its cultural life and all the past well-known memories. Its tourist development began one century and half ago, when the great travellers, like Admiral Nelson’s niece, Lady Bridport, Wolfgang Goethe, Guy de Maupassant and Otto Geleng, made its beauty and history known all over Europe. Later, a group of wealthy English merchant families moved to taormina. They built the Anglican Church.
Taormina is at the centre of several Sicilian locations: Mount Etna, Siracusa, Palermo, Eolian Islands, Piazza Armerina, Noto, Gole Alcantara and tourist can choose between many naturalistic itineraries, wine-gastronomic and historic localities.
