The area of San Giovanni d’Asso, natural bridge between the "Crete Senesi" and the Val d’Orcia, famous worldwide for its valuable white truffle, is rich with farms, hamlets and castles, which are reminiscent of the colours of the paintings of the Renaissance, well-known all over the world.Over the past years, the little town of San Giovanni d’Asso has developed in two parts: a series of buldings which follow one another by the side of the main road to Asciano and the original settlement, on the top of a tuff hill, placed around a little square (piazzetta), with the massive building of the Castle dominating the Asso valley.
